What is work? Is work something we do in order to put food on the table, pay our bills, and afford a few of the enjoyments in life? Is our goal to get to the age where we can stop working? Has retirement become the American dream for the aging? Bill Watterson described retirement this way: “There’s never enough time to do all the nothing you want.”
New medical research has made some discoveries which may alter our desire for early retirement. Coupled with a proper understanding of a Biblical work ethic, Christians at least, may soon be making plans to continue on the job longer than previously planned. This lesson probes this important matter. It may be a choice between retirement and senility.
